Water & Air

Irrigation of potted plants is very important. Due to the limited space for roots and the small amount of substrate, the water and nutrients supplied to plants during irrigation determine the quality of these plants. We must adjust the irrigation of potted plants according to the requirements of the plants. Plants growing in a very moist substrate must not have dry soil. Species that grow in a moist substrate should have about 2 cm of dried layer, while plants from a dry environment grow best in a substrate that dries to half its height between waterings.

Plants are usually watered directly into the substrate

The soil in the pot should even be overwatered and only the liquid collected on the saucer should be removed. This ensures that the water, pouring through the substrate, will moisten it evenly throughout. Some plants require watering on the saucer, others still need to pour water into the rosette. Species requirements should be taken into account when caring for plants.

If you leave, an irrigation system is essential

Such a system makes it possible, first of all, to provide the plant with water regardless of our absence from home, busyness or forgetfulness. However, the device for irrigation of potted plants in the main works during vacations or other trips. It is worth using it, especially since even a do-it-yourself irrigation system will not cause any do-it-yourselfers the slightest problem. When buying an irrigation system, the price should not determine the choice of the device. Sometimes even the cheapest solutions are sufficient. Time savings, efficiency and economic rationale should encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.
