Two-way valve (four-way valve) A functioning valve is responsible for shutting off the water supply from the water supply system and directing the rejection to the sewer system when the water tank is full. When the valve is defective hundreds of liters of water can escape into the sewer system without the knowledge of the filter holder, so it is worth replacing the valve with a new one once every 2 years.

The valve can sometimes squeak making strange sounds during operation, but this is not necessarily a defect, it may be that the water pressure in the water supply is too low and a booster pump is needed.
